How it works

  1. Step 1

    Upload your video

Drag in the video you publish on YouTube — audio is extracted in your browser, no account needed to start.

  2. Step 2

    Transcribe & translate

AI writes timed subtitles and translates them into English or any of 100+ languages, in context.

  3. Step 3

    Add tracks on YouTube

Review each line, export one SRT per language, and upload them in YouTube Studio as subtitle tracks.

Add English (and more) subtitles to your YouTube videos

Most YouTube viewers don't speak your language. Subtitles in their language let them follow your video without a dub. Upload your video file, pick the target languages, and SubtitleFlow transcribes the speech, translates every line in the context of the surrounding dialogue, and keeps the timing exactly as spoken.

  • Transcribe and translate in one flow — no subtitle file needed.
  • Context-aware translation, so jokes, names and tone survive — not word-by-word.
  • Timestamps stay locked, so every language track is in sync.
  • Export one SRT per language and add each as a subtitle track in YouTube Studio.

Better than YouTube's auto-translate

YouTube can machine-translate captions on the fly, but viewers have to find the setting, quality is uneven, and you can't check or fix it. Uploaded translated subtitles appear as a real language option, you can review each line before publishing, and the result reads like it was written for that audience.

Upload the translations to YouTube

  • In YouTube Studio open Subtitles and select the video.
  • Click Add language and choose the language of your translated file (e.g. English).
  • Under Subtitles choose Add → Upload file → With timing, then select that language's SRT.
  • Repeat for each language and publish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I translate a YouTube video from a link?

SubtitleFlow works from the video file, not a link. Use your original file or download your own video from YouTube Studio, then upload it here. If you already have subtitles, export them from YouTube Studio as an SRT and use the subtitle translator instead.

Which languages can I add?

English plus 100+ others — including Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Arabic, French and German. The video's own language is detected automatically.

Will the translated subtitles stay in sync?

Yes. Timing comes from the original speech and is never shifted — only the text is translated — so every language track lines up with the video.

Does it dub my video?

No, it creates translated subtitles, not an AI voice-over. Your own voice stays, and viewers pick their language from the subtitle menu.

How do I add English subtitles to my YouTube video?

Upload your video to SubtitleFlow, choose English as the target language, review the translated lines and export an SRT. In YouTube Studio go to Subtitles → your video → Add language → English, then Add → Upload file → With timing and select the SRT.

Can I try it free?

Yes — the opening of your video is transcribed and translated free without an account, so you can check the quality before translating the whole video.
