DMCA Copyright Policy

Last updated: April 10, 2026

Subtitle Translator respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) (“DMCA”), we respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement and maintain a policy for repeat infringers.

This policy describes how copyright owners may notify us of infringing material stored or processed through the Service. It is informational and does not constitute legal advice.

1. Designated agent

DMCA notices should be sent to our designated copyright agent (update all fields before production):

  • Name: Subtitle Translator — DMCA Agent
  • Email: dmca@subtitleflow.com
  • Mailing address: [Your legal entity / registered agent address]

2. What to include in a takedown notice

Under the DMCA, your notice should include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  2. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (for example, URLs, project identifiers, or user account email and approximate time of upload).
  3. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email).
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  6. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

3. Our response

When we receive a valid DMCA notice, we may remove or disable access to the material and notify the affected user. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

4. Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notification that meets the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Include your contact information, identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake, consent to jurisdiction in the U.S. federal district court for your address (or Northern District of California if outside the U.S.), and your signature.

5. Misrepresentations

Under Section 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing or was removed by mistake may be liable for damages.
